Delivery plan

GMLPF promotes and represents providers and work based learning across Merseyside. The objectives in our delivery plan include:

  • To consolidate and maintain communications with Local Authority and Merseyide partners at senior and department levels, to represent the interests of work based learning (WBL) across the Liverpool City Region.
  • To continue to communicate and contribute to the development of the 6 WBL Borough Networks, their liaison with their Local Authorities and promote high quality, relevant apprenticeship opportunities and programmes for learners.
  • To design, arrange and manage good practice events, run and facilitate programmes and projects for members to improve the quality of their provision.
  • To promote WBL across Merseyside to schools, colleges, parents, employers, individuals and organisations
  • To disseminate information to members on a regular basis about the activities of GMLPF
  • To develop, support and contribute to any sector skills developmetn on Merseyside and in the North West
  • To consolidate our contribution to developing our management arrangements with the North West Provider Network and sub-regional partners, develop communications, seek funding opportunities and share information.
  • To consolidate and develop the management of the Key to Apprenticeships programme to the benefit of prospective learners, employers, provider partners adn GMLPF
  • To communicate and develop productive relationahips with WBL support agencies eg YPLA, Connexions, NAS, SFA, Job Centre Plus and the local authorities
  • To develop employer engagement, respond to their demand led requirements, endeavour to promote WBL apprenticeships for those in employment, and contribute to the development of the Employment and Skills Board strategies
  • To endeavour to continue to generate income and develop the self-sufficiency of GMLPF
  • To develop staff to meet the requirements of their jobs and GMLPF's objectives
  • To promote the lifelong learning agenda and integration of appropriate skills for life into provider activities for the benefit of Merseyside's learners and residents
  • To promote equality of opportunity and diversity across Merseyside, to encourage inclusion and disability access to programmes
  • To promote and support providers to enhance their health and safety procedures, safe learner policies and the development of robust safeguarding procedures.
