Mental Health Awareness workshop
Location: Marriott Hotel, Liverpool city centre
Time: 10am to 4pm
The North West Provider Network (NWPN) is pleased to announce the launch of a small number of workshops aimed specifically at work based learning (WBL) providers in the North West who would like to encourage andpromote opportunities for learners with mental health difficulties, leading to successful programme completion. These workshops have been designed with a collective input from a variety of WBL providers across the region, in order to give WBL providers the increased confidence and capacity to support these learners' requirements.
By the end of the workshops, participants will be able to:-
• Understand the difference between mental health difficulties and being mentally healthy.
• Be aware of some of the signs and symptoms of the most common mental health difficulties and their impact on learners and learning.
• Identify strategies to overcome barriers to learning and the learning environment.
• Explore what they are individuals and their organisations can do to improve the mental well being of all learners.
• Reflect on their current working practices and how they might develop this.
These workshops are not only informative but highly interactive.
Target audiences: Although we don’t have any pre-requisite criteria to attend these workshops, we would encourage participation from managers and practitioners who provide and support learners on programme and are able to make organisational improvements.
Additional support is available for workshop delegates to help explore how they can embed their learning and make changes to how their organisation successfully supports learners with mental health difficulties going forward. This will take the form of an optional additional follow-on workshop and one-to-one support.
