Invest to Change aims to increase training and employment opportunities for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities (LLDD). The project also works to develop relevant expertise in Greater Merseyside's learning providers.
Key partners in the project are LSC, Connexions, NWPN, local authorities and learning providers. GMLPF is involved in many aspects of the Invest to Change project, and also helps administer project funding.
Achievements
Achievements of the Invest to Change project include:
- Sir Peter Little, the government's LLDD champion, met with Merseyside providers to identify and address hurdles to recruiting learners in this group
- Dyslexia workshops held for providers outlining the recognition of and support for dyslexic learners.
- Bespoke autism spectrum disorders training day held at Training Plus merseyside in April 09

Resources
Resources are being developed to assist learning providers in the support of learners with LLD. These include EQUIP - a quarterly information newsletter, learner case studies, and memory sticks containing best practice and legislative information.
