Providers' hair shows highlight skills and creativity of local apprentices

Creation by Mode Training apprentice

Two leading Liverpool hairdressing providers and GMLPF members have recently held their annual shows, profiling the outstanding talent, professionalism and creativity of their apprentices.

Michael John of Liverpool’s 2009 Hair and Beauty show brought together apprentices and their families, Michael John staff, and salon owners in a spectacular event to celebrate learner skills. Mary Halfords Dance Academy and singer Kaya provided additional entertainment throughout the evening whilst raffle prizes donated by local businesses raised funds for the Marina Dalgleish Cancer Appeal.

The theme for Mode Training’s 2009 Celebration of Achievement was “Hair Around The World”. Learners spent weeks preparing costumes and practicing their hairdressing skills resulting in an inspiring collection of looks on the night, including a Union Jack themed creation (right).

Debbie Tagoe, Mode Training ’s company director, comments:

"We’re really proud of all the learners that participated. Everyone was so impressed by the standard of work produced at the show"

Both shows were held at The Contemporary Urban Centre
