NRLC open day publicises construction apprenticeships

Young women interested in a career in construction are being encouraged to sign up for a training programme on offer from the North Liverpool Regeneration Company (NLRC). The Construction Apprenticeship Scheme, which is strongly supported by international construction specialists, Balfour Beatty, is open to all young people aged 16 to 18. NLRC is particularly keen to attract young women to the programme with the offer of a guaranteed job for them at the end of their training.
Organisations who regularly deal with young people were invited to an open day held recently by NLRC to raise awareness of the training programme. Staff from Connexions, Merseyside Probation Service, Job Centre Plus and other agencies had the opportunity to hear from both tutors and apprentices currently on the programme.
As well as Apprenticeships in construction, NRCO also offer training in residential care, women into management, market traders, customer care, administration, and CSCS.
