Double award success for Andrew Collinge

GMLPF member, Andrew Collinge Hairdressing is celebrating a double victory after winning the award for ‘Best Salon Group’ at the star studded 2009 Hair Magazine Awards in London, and after Creative Director, Alfie Booth's triumph at the 27th Alternative Hair Show where he won the International Visionary Award.
Andrew Collinge fought off fierce competition from some of London’s top hairdressing groups for the Best Salon Group award including Rush Hair and Hob Salons, who were all shortlisted in the same category by Hair Magazine and its readers. However, after a unanimous decision by the expert panel which included Nicky Clarke and James Brown, the Liverpool-based salon group triumphed.
Alfie Booth, who works as Creative Director in Liverpool, competed with stylists from all over the world in the Alternative Hair Show, with only 12 finalists selected to present a model on the night at the Albert Hall. Standards at the annual event were extremely high and after much deliberation Alfie, who has also previously been shortlisted twice as ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the British Hairdressing Awards, was selected as the overall winner.
All this comes in the wake of the opening of the new Andrew Collinge Liverpool Graduates salon on Bold Street (pictured above).
Speaking of the new salon, Training Director, Sarah Collinge commented,
‘The opening of the new Graduates Salon on Bold Street is the perfect opportunity to celebrate over 25 years in training and employing young people in the North West. We believe passionately in quality hairdressing and in offering our clients excellent surroundings and first-class facilities. In the current economic climate, we are also very proud that we continue to offer young people exciting and worthwhile career opportunities.’
