Oakmere put on extra sailing trips for young people due to high demand

Oakmere's sail training ship, GMC is fully booked for summer 2010. This has caused disappointment for some groups so the college has come up with a solution. They own another residential sailing vessel called Glaciere which will be stationed in Ellesmere Port throughout August, doing trips up the Manchester Ship Canal. They have choosen this location as there are lots of attractions along the way e.g The Boat Museum, Salford Quays, Imperial War Museum, The Lowry and The Lowry Outlet. Oakmere piloted the trip with a group of their students and received excellent feedback. The sail training voyages provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for young people.

Trips can be tailor made to suit clients' needs and budget and can be as long or as short as required. We recommend a minimum of 2 nights in order to get full benefit from the trip.
