tpm share strategic vision for dyslexia

Senior staff from seven prominent Merseyside training companies gathered at tpm this month for a half-day conference on dyslexia. The event outlined best practice developed by tpm staff in the recognition, analysis and support of learners with dyslexia.

The event provided delegates with an overview of tpm’s strategic and operational priorities for successfully recognising and supporting learners with dyslexia. Real case studies and reports were used and delegates had the opportunity to trial the screening software developed by Adult Dyslexia Access (ADA), and to put questions to Director Brian Quinn, who developed tpm’s strategy and Paula Ebden, the company's Learner Support Manager. Feedback gathered after the conference showed that delegates found the event extremely informative.

tpm's work with dyslexic learners and those with wider social support needs is a very successful model, one which has achieved year-on-year improvements. In 2009-10, 90% of learners with additional learning and social support needs achieved their Apprenticeship Frameworks.
