tpm's learner involvement strategy has measurable positive impact

Regular consultations with learners has shaped tpm's strategy and had a measurably positive impact on services

As part of tpm's ongoing Learner Involvement Strategy, learners were recently asked for their views on courses and facilities at tpm. They were also shown how their opinions and contributions can have a direct impact on the shaping of services to meet their needs.

This particular survey (one of several topical Learner Voice surveys to run throughout the year) asked learners for their opinions on what they liked most and least about tpm. 97 responses were received from learners who currently attend the centre and the top three responses to each question are as follows:

"What I like most about tpm"
1. (41%) The friendly, helpful and supportive staff.
2. (38%) The methods and styles of teaching and learning.
3. (23%) The building and facilities.

"What you would you change about tpm"
1. (68%)  Nothing to improve; It's good the way it is.
2. (25%)  Longer breaks and shorter K/S classes.
3. (8%)    Changes to learning times and styles.

Janet Smart the company’s Quality Improvement Manager, commented "What great results – the Learner Voice clearly shows that improvements made over the past year have had an impact on the service provided by tpm.”
