Merseyside Hairdressing Forum: an "outstanding collaborative partnership" say Ofsted

Ofsted cites Merseyside Hairdressing Forum's peer review work as a contributing factor in Mode Training's recent successful inspection.

The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) have published a report on the peer review and development collaboration between six members of the Merseyside Hairdressing Forum (MHF): Andrew Collinge, Herbert of Liverpool, Michael John of Liverpool. Mode Training, Scientiam and Training Plus merseyside (tpm). In the report, LSIS highlights comments from Ofsted's recent inspection of Mode Training that point to the MHF's peer review work having a very positive impact on quality of provision.

Brian Quinn, MHF chair and director of tpm, comments:

"MHF members are already well aware of the benefits of being involved in this peer review work. Everyone involved has modified aspects of their provision based on feedback and findings from the project. Having our work recognised by Ofsted is very rewarding and highlights to others the tangible benefits of working in collaboration."

Debbie Tagoe, director of Mode Training, adds:

"Our involvement with the MHF and peer review has had a direct impact on our recent Ofsted inspection. The project enabled us to pinpoint areas for improvement, resulting in a Grade 2 for us overall, and notably, a Grade 1 for our "capacity to improve."
