Medal of Excellence for NWTC apprentice

North West Training Council apprentice, Thomas Hawkins, has been awarded a City & Guilds Medal for Excellence for outstanding performance in the engineering sector.

Tom joined NWTC in September 2007 as an apprentice in motor vehicle maintenance and repair, working for Motorsport Vision, Oulton Park. He received a progress award for his achievements and commitments during the first year of his apprenticeship, and was awarded the prestigious NWTC Chairman’s Cup for most outstanding trainee. He completed his Level 2 apprenticeship in 2009.

Continuing his training with the support of his employer, Tom started the Level 3 advanced apprenticeship with NWTC in September 2009 and has now been recognized as an outstanding trainee by City & Guilds.He will receive his City & Guilds Medal for Excellence at The Wales Award Ceremony in Cardiff on 12th March 2010. He has also been invited to attend The Lion Awards Ceremony in London on April 12th to celebrate the achievement of all the Medal for Excellence winners.
