Herbert of Liverpool graduate wins prestigious industry competition

Herbert of Liverpool Training Centre NVQ level 2 graduate, Sharni Deakin of Bobbers Hairdressing has won the 2009 Paul Mitchell Colour Challenge competition. The Colour Challenge is one of the most prestigious nationwide hairdressing competitions.
After winning her regional heat in Manchester with the highest points scored, Sharni went on to win the grand final in Birmingham in October with her ‘Purple Rain’ design.
The challenge was designed to test the creative skills and show how fashion-forward and unique the competitors were. Using a mannequin head and Paul Mitchell Professional Hair Colour, Sharni had to create a female look inspired by catwalk colour trends for Autumn/Winter 09/10.
Sharni (pictured, creating her winning design) is now preparing for her prize: a trip-of-a-lifetime to the bright lights of Las Vegas! In July 2010, Sharni will spend 5 nights in Las Vegas with her accommodation and travelling expenses paid, $500 spending money and the chance to assist on a professional photo shoot.
