Double royal rendezvous for Morthyng

Duchess of Gloucester visits Morthyng in Birkenhead

Chris MacCormac, chief executive of Morthyng Group was honoured to find himself mixing with royalty twice in as many weeks. After lunching with the Queen in his capacity as president of the Rotheram Chamber of Commerce, less than two weeks later Chris was welcoming HRH Duchess of Gloucester to officially open the premises of Morthyng Vocational College in Birkenhead

In a busy programme that included visits to a local women’s refuge and a fire station, the Duchess spent over 40 minutes touring Morthyng’s premises, meeting staff and learners, and seeing the work carried out at the college. At the end of the visit HRH unveiled a plaque and signed the visitors’ book.

Chris was delighted to receive the Duchess of Gloucester’s visit:

“It was an honour, not only for me but for the staff and trustees of  Morthyng, and for all the young people who were presented to Her Royal Highness on the day”.
