Manicures for MPs at Michael John

Local MPs, Alison McGovern and Angela Eagle took up the offer of manicure carried out by apprentices during their visit to the Michael John of Liverpool Liscard Centre in National Apprenticeship Week.
Michael John of Liverpool apprentices were proud to show Alison their training centre at Liscard which includes hair salons, beauty therapy facilities, lecture rooms and IT equipment. The Liscard Centre is used by apprentices and employers from across the Wirral to access specialist training facilities. Training opportunities are available to school pupils and those wanting to start an apprenticeship.
Bradley Smith (pictured right with Alison McGovern) and Sophie Kerr, beauty therapy apprentices, demonstrated their practical skills by carrying out manicure treatments on Alison and Angela. This treatment helps with relaxation as well as improving nail and skin condition.
Alison commented “It was a pleasure to visit Michael John of Liverpool’s fantastic training centre, which helps to train young people from across the Wirral. Youth unemployment is a real problem in this country. Apprenticeships are a great way to get on in life for young people and adults who want on the job training.”
Helen Eaton, Business Development Manager for Michael John of Liverpool commented ‘We are delighted that Alison accepted our invitation to visit our centre and receive a treatment from one of our apprentices. Our apprentices work to an extremely high standard and we are really pleased to be able to demonstrate this to such a high profile visitor.’
