6 more higher education graduates for ATO
ATO has long been a shining example of how apprenticeships can work as a route into higher education. Their strategy of progressing learners into HE includes a programme of regular visits to universities, and an outstanding commitment to providing individualised support to their learners.
This summer, six ATO learners who went onto university after completing their apprenticeships, graduated from Hope University and Liverpool John Moores University: four of them completed Foundation Degrees, and two of them full-time Honours degrees. Danielle Clark, one of these graduates, is now continuing her professional development and undertaking her A1 assessor’s award with ATO.
Further visits to universities are planned for current apprentices in the new year.
All this success comes during a year that has seen ATO’s onsite nursery, Little Explorers, extended by an additional room, with plans for a third room to open in the near future. Six ATO childcare apprentices work in the nursery that now has capacity for 40 children.
