GMLPF's Key to Apprenticeships goes from strength to strength
In the last three months, a further 160 young people have signed up the GMLPF’s growing Key to Apprenticeships programme, a short, full-time vocational programme designed to put school leavers and other young people in prime position to apply for an Apprenticeship and succeed at interview.
The programme has gone from strength to strength since it started and recently expanded to include a number of new vocational areas: music, beauty, performing arts, glass operations and catering.
Joanne Rymer, manager of the programme has been working to develop the Key to Apprenticeships programme to really support young people who for whatever reason, just aren’t quite ready to go into a full apprentice;
“We’re delighted with the increase in young people who are opting to come on Key to Apprenticeships. Thanks to the training companies we’re working with on this innovative programme, we’re also seeing some excellent results in terms of people completing the programme and going onto apprenticeships. Our current progression rate stands at 82% with the vast majority of learners going onto a full employed apprenticeship.“
A new website will be launched shortly outlining the various options available under Key to Apprenticeships and highlighting some of the many successes.
Training providers currently delivering Key to Apprenticeships are: Alder Training, Asset Training, Aigburth Training Opportunities, Beacon Learning, Communiveristy, Mode, NWCS, Progress Sports, Riverside LEC, Sysco and The Vocational College.
