GMLPF membership: a ticket for improving performance
For Merseyside-based work based learning providers, GMLPF membership provides a ticket for accessing up-to-date information, best practice, resources and specialist training to improve performance and success rates.
GMLPF members also benefit from having their views and interests represented by GMLPF at local, regional and national levels with key agencies such as Local Authorities, the National Apprenticeship Service and the Skills Funding Agency.
Over 50 Merseyside organisations are already GMLPF members, enjoying these benefits and more:
- a central point for queries and concerns relating to work-based learning
- strategic links to Local Authorities, Sector Skills Councils, ALP, North West Provider Network and professional bodies
- collaboration and sharing best practice with other learning providers
- regular printed and e-communications featuring round-ups of local work-based learning news
- free use of large and small meeting rooms
- access to resources such as digital display equipment, portable hearing loop, SENDA resources library
- a platform to raise awareness of work-based learning providers’ services through GMLPF communications on and offline
- free and discounted training in specialist areas relevant to learning providers, delivered by experts. Recent examples include sessions on :
- Preparing for Ofsted Inspection
- Risk assessment when working with young people
- Safeguarding Level 1 & 2
- Training Quality Standard
- Understanding how IAG can benefit learners
Membership is open to all learning providers who currently hold work-based learning contracts on Merseyside, and subject to approval can also be extended to organisations who have indirect involvement with work-based learning. New members all start as associate members, with the option to progress onto full membership after 12 months. Starting membership rates work out at less than £5 a week.
