Typical day

Communication is a key daily activity and comes in many forms: responding to emails and phone calls, disseminating timely information to members, editing the GMLPF newsletter, making sure the website is up to date. A constant influx of information from regional and national organisations often raises member queries so I address these as a priority, taking action as appropriate.

I regularly meet with GMLPF members, the board and the sector forums. I pass on members’ concerns to decision makers, collate and disseminate best practice, and encourage collaboration on the delivery and promotion of Apprenticeships.

There is no typical day at GMLPF which keeps things interesting and stimulating. This is not so much a job as a lifestyle choice: I’m always on my toes, ready to promote, represent and make the most of unexpected opportunities.

Everything that comes out of GMLPF aims to enhance and build on the excellent efforts our members make to increase Apprenticeships awareness and improve prospects for both young people and businesses on Merseyside.

Best thing about working at GMLPF

I work with positive people who are determined to make positive change. From the crow’s nest of GMLPF, I enjoy setting a daily course for the land of quality delivery on Merseyside.

The world of learning changes fast. It helps to wear your mental running shoes at all times. I’m privileged to contribute to a vital aspect of the nation’s development, working towards a future where an Apprenticeship qualification is as valued as any academic degree.
