Myerscough College

Myerscough College is a specialist college providing high quality education and training for the landbased and sports sectors locally, nationally and internationally. The college’s main centre is in Preston, with other centres in Croxteth Park, Liverpool, Blackburn, Burnley and Manchester.

The Myerscough College Croxteth Park Centre is now established as the ‘College in the Park’, with increasing number of learners. The college works closely with Liverpool City Council, Glendale Grounds Maintenance and the local community to engage young people in landbased and sports education in Croxteth Park.

Myerscough College has invested circa £200,000 in its Croxteth Park Centre this summer alone. This investment is part of a wider capital Investment Project designed to improve educational resources, facilities and visitor attractions open to the public. The investment has been used to create:

  • Brand new paddock area, 11 new stables and tack room for equine provision
  • Improvements to existing buildings to improve the College’s ability to house a variety of animals and extend its provision for animal care
  • Relocation of Arboriculture Centre within Croxteth Park to improve existing facilities

The flexible Foundation Learning courses delivered from the Croxteth Park Centre offer young people the opportunity to engage in landbased and sports education – with many progressing on to become apprentices or to study full time at the college.
